Great article, although I'm surprised you didn't cover Origin Dollar (OUSD). It's the first yield-bearing stablecoin that grows in your wallet. It's backed 100% by other stables, audited by Trail of Bits and OpenZeppelin, and gives you access to the best returns in DeFi w/o the typical hassles of staking, then harvesting, then swapping, then restaking, over and over again.

Hey Josh, thanks for dropping by. I shortlisted protocols primarily on the basis of stability mechanisms with market cap as a secondary consideration in order to give readers a wider perspective. While I do cover other aspects too, I wanted to emphasize stability and collateral related mechanisms. That said, I intend for this essay to be a constantly evolving and relevant source for learning about stablecoins, so I will add Origin soon. For what it's worth, I think self-compounding, yield-bearing stablecoins can significantly improve retail user experience that crypto largely still lacks.
Hey Mo, thanks a ton. There were a few other protocols including Angle that I wanted to cover, but I'd already expanded the scope of this essay several times, delaying the release, so I took a call to add them at a later time. I will include Angle in the next update.
Great writing, never seen anyone else put so much thought into stable coin. OSD-One Stable Dollar from 1kx.exchange has most traits of an ideal stable coin listed in your article. Here are some details of it: https://1kx.gitbook.io/1kx/features/osd
